Department of Counselor Education


The Department of Counselor Education does not have any undergraduate programs in counseling but does offer a Master of Science degree in Counseling. Undergraduate students who have an interest in pursuing a master's degree at a later date will benefit from courses and/or degrees in programs such as psychology, social work, sociology, women's studies or health.

Students who have specific questions should review the department website or contact the program coordinator.



This is a survey course intended to introduce the student to the field of counseling and guidance. An overview of the purposes, procedures, and expected outcomes of counseling and guidance programs, the counselor's role and relationship to other functionaries will be dealt with.
