Audio Production and Sound Design Minor Requirements

The Audio Production and Sound Design minor prepares students to create sound for a range of media and art forms, by providing a foundational understanding of the role of sound in media as well as sound production processes. The minor combines theory and production courses with practicum opportunities across a range of disciplines, including Theatre, MAGD, Music, and Communication to practice and hone their craft. This interdisciplinary minor includes classes from multiple departments and programs across campus. No more than 12 credits may come from any single department/course header. Students will develop theoretical and practical knowledge in the following areas:

  • Electronic music 
  • Recording and production techniques
  • Computer Music performance
