The Information Technology and Supply Chain Management department offers programs in Business Analytics, Information Technology, and Operations and Supply Chain Management. These programs give students essential skills to succeed in today’s data-driven and technology-driven business environment.  These programs prepare graduates for high-demand careers by equipping them with the knowledge and hands-on experience in areas like data analytics, IT systems and operations and supply chain management to solve business challenges. With the growing importance of data and technology, these fields are projected to experience rapid job growth, offering excellent career opportunities.

Programs:  

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Business Analytics program focuses on collecting, transforming, and analyzing data to support business decision-making. Students gain hands-on experience in data management and statistical analysis, preparing them for careers in a wide range of industries. The program offers the option to specialize in a specific area of business:

  • Data Mining and Artificial Intelligence – Focuses on extracting valuable insights from large datasets using advanced algorithms and AI technologies to make data-driven decisions.
  • Digital Marketing – Provides students with the skills to use data and analytics to create effective digital marketing strategies across platforms like social media, search engines, and email.
  • Marketing – Develops expertise in data-driven marketing strategies to enhance consumer engagement, brand awareness, and product positioning.
  • Operations and Supply Chain – Focuses on using data to optimize business processes, logistics, and supply chain strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Information Technology program blends IT knowledge with business acumen to prepare students for careers in technology-focused business environments. The program equips students with a solid foundation in IT systems and business processes, with specialized emphases:

  • Business Analysis: This field focuses on analyzing business processes and IT systems to identify opportunities for improvement and help organizations meet their strategic goals.
  • Business Analytics—This program provides students with the skills to use data analytics to support business decisions, improve operational efficiency, and gain competitive advantages.
  • Networking and Security—This program covers the fundamentals of computer networks, cybersecurity, and the technologies used to protect data and systems in the business environment.

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Operations and Supply Chain Management program prepares students to manage and optimize the flow of goods, services, and information across the supply chain. Students will develop the skills needed to design, implement, and improve supply chain systems, enhancing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Emphases include:

  • Global Sourcing—This field focuses on managing the procurement of goods and services from global suppliers, considering factors like cost, quality, and delivery times.
  • Logistics Analytics – Combines supply chain management with data analysis to optimize logistics operations, transportation, and inventory management.
  • Project Management – Develops the skills to plan, execute, and manage projects within the supply chain and operations environment, ensuring successful project delivery.

Students can enhance their knowledge by pursuing a minor in Business Analytics, Information Technology, or Operations and Supply Chain Management. However, students majoring in one of these areas are not eligible to minor in the same area.

Additional Opportunities and Highlights:  

  • Student Organizations: The Information Technology and Supply Chain Management Department offers several student organizations related to these fields of study, including the Association for Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics Club, Enactus, Excel-erators, and ISACA. These organizations help students develop leadership skills, engage in professional development, and participate in events and conferences.
