Associate of Arts (AA)

To graduate with the Associate of Arts degree from the College of Integrated Studies, a student must

  • complete a minimum of 60 units,
  • be in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or above,
  • satisfy General Education requirements, and
  • complete the following College Degree Requirements, which may also be used to fulfill other requirements.

College Degree Requirements:

I.  U.S. Racial/Ethnic Diversity (DV):  A student must complete one 3-unit course dealing with African American, Native American, Asian American, or Latinx American experience. 

II.  High-Impact Practices Requirement (HIP):  A student must complete one HIP course. A High-Impact Practice course focuses on learning that increases a student's social and intellectual engagement in higher education. These active learning courses challenge students to engage in higher-order thinking, including analysis, synthesis, evaluation, application, and/or creation of original work. Students spend significant time on purposeful tasks, receive and respond to substantive feedback, and engage in interaction with instructors and other students. HIP courses are listed below.
