The Management Department at UW-Whitewater provides students with the skills and knowledge to manage human and physical resources to achieve organizational goals effectively. The programs cover various facets of management, including human resource management, all designed to prepare students for careers in diverse industries. These programs combine academic rigor with practical experience to equip students for leadership roles in both the public and private sectors.
Programs:
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Management offers options to specialize in a specific area of industry:
- Healthcare Management – prepares students for careers in managing healthcare organizations and navigating the complexities of the healthcare industry.
- Managing Sports Programs – Focuses on the management of sports organizations, events, and teams, blending business with sports industry knowledge.
- Nonprofit Management – Trains students to lead and manage nonprofit organizations, emphasizing strategies for sustainability and impact.
- Organization and Leadership Development – Focuses on developing effective leaders and improving organization performance through strategic management techniques.
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Human Resource Management program prepares students to manage an organization’s workforce effectively, emphasizing areas such as staffing, employee development, compensation strategies, and labor relations.
The Bachelor of Science degree in Public Policy and Administration major, offered in partnership with the College of Letters and Sciences, prepares students for careers in government and public sector organizations, with courses from both the Political Science Department and the Management Department.
Students can enhance their knowledge by pursuing a minor in Human Resource Management, Leadership Development, or Nonprofit Management. However, students majoring in one of these areas are not eligible to minor in the same area.
