Library Media K-12 Minor Requirements

The Library Media K-12 minor prepares students in a BSE teacher licensure program for additional licensure as library media specialists. Students who are not in teacher licensure programs may also take this minor along with additional coursework and clinical requirements determined in consultation with a COEPS advisor for initial teacher licensure.

To prepare for Library Media K-12 licensure with your licensable teaching major, students need to complete all courses for the Library Media minor plus two pre-student teaching and one student teaching experience. For students pursuing dual licensure, these experiences may overlap with clinicals for the initial license and will be planned in coordination with your major advisor and the Office of Clinical Experiences.

Students must meet the requirements for admission to professional education in COEPS and earn a 3.00 GPA on library content courses.
