It is recommended that all courses be completed with a C or better. Optometry schools may have higher grade requirements and may also have a cumulative GPA requirement. There is no grade or GPA requirement to earn this certificate.

This certificate does not encompass all possible pre-requisite courses for admission to optometry school. Students are encouraged to proactively identify required prerequisite courses for admission to the schools where they intend to apply. Additionally, most optometry programs require a standardized admission test such as the OAT or GRE.

Completion of this certificate does not guarantee admission to optometry school. Each optometry school makes its own admissions decisions based upon its own requirements.
