Counseling - School Counseling Emphasis Requirements (MS)

The UW-Whitewater School Counseling Master's program is an innovative program designed for individuals who are seeking School Counseling licensure in Wisconsin. Requirements for admission include graduate GPA of 3.00; and experience working in a school or related field, which will be evaluated during the admission process. The program leads to School Counseling (7054) license using the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Wisconsin Content Guidelines. The courses for this certificate are offered primarily in person.

 1Students must achieve a grade of "B" (3.00) or better in COUNSED 718: Principles of Counseling and in COUNSED 721: Groups: Theory and Practice before they can enroll in COUNSED 793: Supervised Practicum. Students must achieve a Satisfactory grade in COUNSED 793: Supervised Practicum before they can enroll in COUNSED 795: Counseling Internship. 

2 Candidates must also pass the state-approved standardized test of content knowledge in order to be endorsed by UW-Whitewater for DPI licensure. Additional coursework or trainings may be required depending on DPI statutory requirements.
